Incumbents in Congress devoid of leadership qualities
Leadership is influencing people—by providing purpose, direction, and motivation—while operating to accomplish objectives. The key here is influencing people, No mention of Political Action Committees, large corporations, political or wealthy organizations but people.
BE, KNOW, DO clearly and concisely state the characteristics of a leader. Character and competence, the BE and the KNOW, underlie everything a leader does. This includes adopting and living the values. I would challenge any current incumbent in Congress that they do not posses any of these qualities. Many of our elected politicians are the criminal element or pawns to the criminal mentality.
Your character helps you know what is right; more than that, it links that knowledge to action. Character gives you the courage to do what is right regardless of the circumstances or the consequences. No incumbent has the courage to do what is right! You demonstrate character through your behavior. One of your key responsibilities as a leader is to live those values. The old saying that actions speak louder than words has never been truer. Leaders who talk about honor, loyalty, and selfless service but do not live these values send the wrong message, that this “values stuff” is all just talk. That is exactly an incumbent in congress position. Understanding values and leader attributes is only the first step. You also must embrace values and develop leader attributes, living them until they become habit. You must live those values and through action and provide leadership by example. The American people only get hot air and not one in Congress can declare they hold these truths to be evident in their actions. A Congress person asks only one question “What’s in it for me ‘
A leader must have a certain level of knowledge to be competent. That knowledge is spread across four skill domains. You must develop interpersonal skills, knowledge of your people and how to work with them. Congress has no idea about the needs of the people only special interest groups, lobbyist, and large money contributors. You must have conceptual skills, the ability to understand and apply doctrine and other ideas. The only idea politicians understand is to give the criminal element a legislative advantage and protection which has destroyed the concept of a free and open economy. Finally, leaders must master decision skills, the ability to make the right decisions. Congressional politicians cannot make a decision period. Our politicians have none and the reason this nation is failing. Make no doubt that this nation is failing. There is hope if we the people vote out all incumbents and set term limits on Congress. True leaders seek out opportunities. You read about leader actions, the DO of Army leadership doctrine Leader actions include: Influencing: making decisions, communicating those decisions, and motivating people. Operating: the things you do to accomplish the people’s will. Improving: The things you do to increase the people’s capability to accomplish their will.
Beyond an allegiance to the Constitution, politicians have an obligation to be faithful to the institutions of government, its law, and its people. Only the masses are subject to law. Average Americans cannot get a fair and speedy trial due to private law. They get destroyed if they demonstrate any courage to face politician’s corruptness
Leaders can neither demand loyalty nor win it from their people by talking about it. Loyalty is commitment. A trait built on Trust. Do you trust congress to put the needs of the American people before their selfish, self serving interest?
Respect for the individual forms the basis for the rule of law, the very essence of what makes America. Politicians do not respect the sacrifices of the American people to create a great and stable country. They respect nothing and only concerned about those who can maintain a state of luxury and condone irresponsibility. Respect means recognizing and appreciating the inherent dignity and worth of all people. This value reminds you that your people are your greatest resource. Leaders honor everyone’s individual worth by treating all people with dignity and respect. Incumbents will not give you the time of day if you are a typical American citizen and don’t care. They will give you lip service if you made a contribution but nothing substantial.
Selfless service means doing what’s right for the nation, and your people—and putting these responsibilities above your own interests. The needs of the nation come first. Rather, selfless service means that you don’t make decisions or take actions that help your image or your career but hurt others. The selfish politician claims credit for work other people do; the selfless leader gives credit to those who earned it. Congress is totally null and void of any selfless service
Honor provides the “moral compass” for character and personal conduct. Honor means demonstrating an understanding of what’s right and taking pride in the community’s acknowledgment of that reputation. The only reputation want is for people to understand they can destroy them unless they follow their illicit actions and keep quiet
People of integrity consistently act according to principles—not just what might work at the moment. Leaders of integrity make their principles known and consistently act in accordance with them. The American people require leaders of integrity who possess high moral standards and are honest in word and deed. As a leader, you’re honest to yourself by committing to and consistently living values; you’re honest to others by not presenting yourself or your actions as anything other than what they are. No one absolutely no one in congress can claim this trait. No one in congress will give a straight answer, unless they have made some backroom deal. People of integrity do the right thing not because it’s convenient or because they have no choice. They choose the right thing because their character permits no less.
Leaders can’t hide what they do: that’s why a leader must carefully decide how he/she act. Your personal values may and probably do extend beyond leadership values, to include such things as political, cultural, or religious beliefs. However, if you’re to be a leader and a person of integrity, these values must reinforce, not contradict, leadership values. I have yet to see any action taken on moral values within congress. Good leaders demonstrate both. I have never known incompetence and corruption to be rewarded except in congress. Physical courage means overcoming fears of bodily harm and doing your duty. It enables leaders to stand up for what they believe is right, regardless of the consequences. That has not and will not occur in our current congress. Leaders, who take responsibility for their decisions and actions, even when things go wrong, display moral courage. Courageous leaders are willing to look critically inside themselves, consider new ideas, and change what needs changing. Our congress only looks to see where they redirected the Americans hard earned money so they can receive a political contribution, a legal bribe.
Our US Congress is totally devoid of any True leadership qualities.
